Pistores Pizza + Pastry

Joel and Andrea Reno tapped Siren Betty Design to create a space that celebrates the artistry of their work and helps to tell the story of tradition and craftsmanship that is so central to Pistores.  We used a palette of pale earthy hues – terra cotta, turquoise, sand, persimmon – to invite warmth into the café’s 2,200 square feet and to reflect the light from the floor-to-ceiling garage-style windows, which will fully open when weather allows. The café’s main bar is clad in a terra cotta-colored “zellige,” a clay tile that originates from Morocco, where skilled artisans shape them by hand.   Exposed brick - original to the circa 1890 building - provides texture and a nod to history, as do plaster-finished walls. As is a signature of Siren Betty Design, the aesthetic themes of the café carry into the two restrooms in the rear of the space: each is clad in hand-painted porcelain tiles from the American-made, woman-owned brand Haustile.
