Slightly Toasted

Slightly Toasted is a transitional space-- cafe by day, whiskey bar by night. We wanted the designs to reflect a classy, yet approachable environment. We converted the existing space from an office building restaurant to a more Chicago inspired feel by opening the ceiling, exposing the industrial mechanics and adding whiskey barrel staves to the ceiling. To elevate the feeling of luxury, we added velvet curtains, crushed velvet on the banquette, leather barstools, marble bars and table tops. Modern, linear lighting was installed to provide a unique balance between mid-century style lounge furniture and classic textures and materials. The finishes in the space were carefully curated to find the right balance between masculine and feminine.
