Robert et Fils
We used muted tones, rich textures, found architectural pieces, and thoughtful lighting to soften the angular space and give guests the feeling that they are perhaps entering a private Parisian apartment, one that is not too curated or too perfect, rather just as lived-in as it is elegant. Like the restaurant’s name, the dining room is very much an homage to Shaner’s father. The nature-printed wallcoverings and houndstooth wool upholstery reference Robert le père as an avid game hunter and outdoorsman. A collection of vintage and salvaged pieces, including an antique bureau belonging to the Shaner family, further personalize the space. We designed the oversized bar to give diners a full view of the restaurant’s food preparation space because they know, as all great hosts do, that party guests will always gravitate towards the kitchen.
